Racketball and squash league, ladder and competition update

Dear [[firstname]],

We've got a few updates for you from the squash section!

RACKETBALL LEAGUE NEW SEASON
The first season was played in two divisions, and saw the first division won by Trevor Grinsted, with an extremely tight run-in seeing the top three players separated by three points after some interesting reverse
fixtures. Some other players in Division 1 were further behind, but we won't talk about that. The new season started yesterday, but we welcome late sign-ups. Players of all abilities are very welcome: it involves playing 5 or 6 matches against players of a similar standard at a rate of around one game a weekwith a couple of weeks off.

To sign up and prove that it should be your name at the top of the leader board, or just to find out what it's all about, please email squash.league@wcstsc.org.uk, or WhatsApp 07973 518886.

RACKETBALL LADDER
If you are a bit doubtful about signing up for the league but would like some competitive racketball, sign up for the ladder: contact Trevor, or just add your name on the balcony whiteboard.

RACKETBALL OPEN COMPETITION
It's time for the long-awaited racketball club open competition: like its predecessor, there will be handicapped scoring, a few games guaranteed for everyone and it will be spread over a period of a week or two, with the later-round games concentrated together so that we can have a bit of a social event alongside and cheers and jeers form the balcony. The exact format depends on how many sign up. The early rounds should start later this month.

SQUASH OPEN COMPETITION
It is also (nearly!) time for another squash open competition: like the racketball, this is open to members of all standards and will have handicapped scoring and a guaranteed number of games for everyone, but
the timescale and format of the tournament depends on how many sign up. This will probably be in September and is likely to be spread over a short period of time for the early stages, rather than all one
day, but with the final stages on one day.

THE SQUASH LEAGUE...
is currently having a rest: the last edition was won by Shaze, successfully and comfortably defending his title. A new season will start in September, probably on or after the first week. There are now almost 50 players, ranging from beginners and improvers to club team players: it is a great place to find players of your standard meet new opponents.

For all events, please contact squash.league@wcstsc.org.uk, or whatsapp 07973 518886 and don't forget to say which one(s) you are interested in!

We hope to see some of you on court soon!

Best wishes,

The Squash Committee
