Dear Members,
As many of you will be aware the vegetation along the club's north-eastern border was cut down over the winter. We are replanting there with native species which will eventually form a hedgerow, the club need volunteers to make our desire for a beautiful hedgerow, that will be fantastic for biodiversity and last a hundred years, a reality.
Stephen Downing has kindly sourced hundreds of plants for free from a charity called The Conservation Volunteers, these plants are being delivered to the club on the 21st of March, and we plan to plant them on Saturday 23rd of March.
There are hundreds of juvenile trees that will need to be planted and for this we need volunteers, the more the merrier, although volunteers who can bring spades will be especially handy. Please be at the club for 10am on Saturday 23rd of March if you can help with the planting.
To prepare the soil for planting we need to rotavate and remove any rubbish along the proposed tree line, this work will be carried out on Saturday 16th of March at 10am, and for this a small band of volunteers will also be most welcome. The club will hire a rotavator for this work locally, I anticipate a small van will be required for pick up and return, if anyone could help with this their help would be greatly appreciated.
